Hi everyone! I am Lore from Blessed X 5, you can also find me over at Five Blessings Boutique. I am so excited to part of EYMM Anniversary Blog Tour.
For my stop on the tour we are reviewing the four seasons cardigan.
I have to say that I was absolutely amazed at the size ranges and options included in the pattern.
The woman's version comes in sizes  xs-5x and the girl's version comes in newborn to 18 tween.
Both versions include 2 lengths, four sleeve lengths and a hood option! That is a lot of different cardigans that you could make from one pattern!
Both of the cardigans I made were duster length, 3/4 sleeve and no hood.

It just so happens that one night my kids were watching an old episode of Full House. In the episode Stephanie decided to start dressing like her big sister DJ. Of course in true 80's/90's sitcom way, a totally hysterical series of events followed. By the end of the show, even the littlest of sisters, Michelle, had joined in the fun. My kids loved the show. Queen Bee made the comment that it would be funny if her and the Little Miss dressed alike. Ha, little did she know that mom's wheels were already spinning.
The four seasons cardigan is the perfect pattern to have some sister matching fun.
My girls are 11 years apart so they usual don't have to worry about dressing exactly alike to often.
For both cardigans I used a light weight textured knit that draped very nicely.
Both girls loved loved the look and feel of their cardigan. It is perfect for preschool and cool enough high school.

A Vision to Rember: Raggedy Strip Quilt

I am so excited to share with you my latest pattern review for DIY Crush, The Raggedy Strip quilt by A Vision to Remember.
The Raggedy Strip Quilt is a beginner quilt pattern. I had a blast picking out all my fabrics for the quilt. The final quilt measures 44 x 56 inches.

The pattern come with detailed written instructions but does not included step by step pictures.
The instruction are very easy to follow. The pattern also gives a couple different options. You can do a two layer or a three layer quilt. It also gives you directions on binding your quilt or doing the "rag" style, like I did.

I choose to do a two layer quilt. My top is fun super girl prints and my backing is a super cuddly micro fleece. My machine did not have a problem sewing the two layers. If you are going to sew the three layer I would recommend a walking foot.
The Raggedy Strip Quilt and all A Vision to Remember's patterns can be purchased at DIY Crush.

So Sew Easy:The Lucy Tote

I was so excited when I was asked to review The Lucy Tote by So Sew Easy for DIY Crush.
I mainly sew children's clothing but I also enjoy other sewing adventures.
The Lucy Tote was a fun and fairly easy sew. It is considered an intermediate sew due to the construction of the zipper pocket.

As a little girl I always wanted to be Wonder Woman. Luckily Wonder Woman and the other super girls are back in style and I was able to get my hands on some pretty cool fabric. I was saving this fabric to make a dress for the Little Miss but I couldn't resist using it on the tote. If you are using a directional fabric make sure you read the instructions before you cut. You wouldn't want your print upside down.

The Lucy Tote is a pretty good size. The finished size is 11″ H, 13 1/2″ W, 4″ D. The top has a separating zipper that supplies security when zipped and allows for total access when opened. The straps are a good length for carrying the tote at your elbow. If you want to carry it as a shoulder bag you will have to extend the straps.

The pattern also comes with instructions for inside pockets. Perfect for keeping all your items in their place.

The tutorial for The Lucy Tote is well written and included helpful photographs. The designer also uses arrows to point to specific items that she is referring to. The front zipper pocket is a little tricky but the instructions are extremely helpful and the designer provides additional resources if help is still needed.
I enjoyed The Lucy Tote and I have a feeling I will be seeing more in my future.

Heidi and Finn: Cowl Neck Jumper Dress and sweater

Fall has official started and cooler weather has hit the east coast.
Which means, it time for sweaters and fun fall outfits.
Heidi and Finn has the perfect new release, the cowl neck jumper and sweater.
Both the sweater and the jumper sewed up incredibly fast. Which is a plus when chasing around a busy toddler. I made both the jumper and sweater in the 18month size. The sweater is made out of a medium weight knit. The appliqued butterflies are made out of rib knit. As a bonus the butterfly applique pattern is included!
The dress is made completely out of rib knit. Baby girl loves the comfortable feel of the dress. Mommy thinks its adorable :)

I choose to use long sleeves, but, the pattern also included short sleeves. It also comes with a bottom band option. The sweater and jumper can be kept simple or dressed up for special occasions. The possibilities are endless.
The pattern sizes range from 12m to 12y.
You can purchase it here!

Happy Sewing!

Ollie and Annie- Isabella Dress and Tunic

Introducing the Isabella.
Isabella is the new dress/tunic pattern from Ollie and Annie!
I had the opportunity to test the 18 month tunic.

Baby Girl is in love with this tunic. It has a great swing to it, due to the front and back pleats. Now, before the pleats scare you off...
This pattern comes with a pleat guide. This is the easiest pleating I have ever seen.
The back closure is an adorable button loop closure.
This is the perfect pattern for transitioning into the cooler months. It pairs perfectly with a long sleeve shirt and jeans.
The Isabella is available in sizes 12 months to 12 years.
You can purchase the pdf in the Ollie and Annie Etsy store.
For a limited time you can purchase the Isabella  and all of Ollie and Annie's patterns at a 20% discount using the code ISABELLA20.

Happy Sewing!
