EYMM Off The Shoulder Blog Tour

Its time for another blog tour with EYMM!
This time everyone on the tour is showcasing the Women's Off the Shoulder Dress & Peplum Top or  the Off the Shoulder Top & Tunic for Women or Girls.
Miss C is wearing her off the shoulder in the tunic length and I am wearing the peplum top.

The weather in New England is quite chilly and we are expecting more snow today.
There is no better time to be wearing warm sweaters. I found this sweater knit at Joann's and it is absolutely perfect for this top. These tops are a pretty quick sew and I depending on fabric choice can go from casual to elegant.

Now, to spread a little holiday cheer. Tell me your favorite holiday tradition and you will have a chance to when a $20 gift card to EYMM!
My favorite tradition is decorating the Christmas tree together as a family!
What's yours?

Cozy Up To Fall Blog Tour With EYMM

Cozy-Up-to-Fall-Tour-web

Every since we moved to New England about two years ago, fall has been my favorite season. But, with beautiful views like this, who wouldn't love it? Besides the beautiful leaves, I love the apple picking and all the baking that the season inspires. One of my kids favorite cookies is the AppleDoodle. We use this recipe. They are absolutely delicious with fresh picked apples.
Once the crisp fall air starts I love to slip into my long sleeve shirts and curl up on the porch with a cup of hot tea, a couple appledoodles and a good book.
I have had the EYMM Piko pattern sitting in my files for awhile but I hadn't had time to sew it up.
I'm not sure what took me so long because I am absolutely in love with this shirt! I used a soft lightweight knit that I had sitting in my stash and it came out so comfy! I love that the long sleeves are fitted, baggy sleeves leave my arms chilly. The next thing on my sewing list is the Get Moving Leggings so I made my Piko Top a little longer to cover booty when I have on the leggings.
So, what is your favorite thing about fall? Leave a comment below and you could win a $20 giftcard for EYMM! Check out below for information on the rest of the tour and for a sale!

EYMM Valentine Essentials Blog Tour

It feels like I haven't blogged in forever! Life has been a little crazy around here and it was nice to take a break and sew something for myself.
For this Blog Tour, myself and the other seamstress' are showing off our version of the Everyday Essential pattern.
From the EYMM website:
"The Everyday Essentials Set for women is a collection of simple knit undergarments that are perfect for layering. Included are a comfortable sleeping bra, a cami, 2 different length gowns that can be made as nightgown or has a full slip and chemise as well as 2 different length half slips. These pieces are a great in between layer for slinking, thin or lightweight dresses and skirts to provide more modest cover of your bra and underwear.
Because everyone has different shape and preferences, 3 different cup sizes are available for each size of the bodice, as well as a variety of finishes for the neck, arms and hem including knit binding, elastic and lace. As a bonus we have also included 2 different lengths of an optional slit! The bra, cami and gowns are all nursing and maternity friendly!
This pattern includes 10 sizes for women from misses XS to plus size 5X."

For my set I sewed up the cami and half slip. I modified my slip to have a yoga band at the waist for added comfort. It is so comfortable I may wear it as a regular skirt.
I was surprised how quick this set sewed up and I already have a night gown ready to go.
Another plus, my kids won't be embarrassed to see me in my pjs :)

Make sure you check everyone else out on the tour!

EYMM Back to School Tour: Mom's Edition

It's Back to School time!
This is the day we have been waiting and praying for over the last couple months!
We thought it would never come...
But it has!
I'm just kidding (well kinda). I actually enjoy have all my kiddos around but it is nice to have a little break while they are at school.
This year we have an 11th grader, 9th grader, 5th grader, 4th grader and a preschooler.

A lot of people think once the kids are in school we have so much time.
The opposite is quite true.
Now we have cheer leading, band, scouts, church activities..... the list could go on and on.
This leaves little time for mama.
So, if I sew for me its gotta be quick.
The kymy dolman top is just that!
I wanted a loose flowing top that I could throw over my tank top and head out to the bus stop without looking like I was still in my pjs (I admit, I have done this).

To save even more time, I didn't hem it!
Knit does not fray, so I didn't bother.
I made the tunic length, basic fit and I love it.
But, when I get a couple minutes I may go make and add the side ruching (included in the pattern!)
Also, included is a high low hem, basic tee, maternity option and banded tee.
Plus, the pattern is in sizes XS to 5X!

Make sure you stop my Everything your mama made and use the code below to pick up some patterns for you!

421 Myers Design Studio: Headband Tutorial

As a mom to girls I am always looking for fun accessories for them. As a sewer I am always looking for new designers.
I got lucky and found both for this project!
Linda is the the terrific designer behind 421 Myers Design Studio.
A few weeks ago I participated  in her sew along for her free dog collar and bow tie pattern.
Our newest baby, Butterscotch looks absolutely handsome in his new collar and bow tie.
It's always nice for new designers to have free patterns available so that we can get a feel for their construction process and their layout.
Well, Linda is not stopping there!
She is releasing a bunch of adorable headband tutorials for free in her Facebook group.
The tutorials include: Adult and Child Knot Headband, Elastic Headband with Bow Tie,  Elastic Headband with Tied Bow, Nonslip Headband and a Wire Headband.
Linda was so sweet and let me try out a couple of the patterns before she released them to the group.
First, the Wire Headband

I have never made this type of headband. I love it! It stays in place all day. The pattern includes instructions on how to measure yourself and also has a chart in case you can't measure the person you are make the headband for.

Adult and Child Knot Headband

Another adorable headband! Both girls loved their knot bands.
The hidden elastic strip makes it easy to wrap and tie the band.

 Non Slip Headband

This headband literally took me 5 minutes to make! I love it. We will be making some to match all her outfits.

Head on over the 421 Myers Design Studio Facebook group and grab your free tutorials.
Also, check out Christine at Threads and Stitches. All the fabric for our headbands came from her shop!
Thank you Christine!!!
Now it's your turn to make some headbands.
Make sure you post a picture of your headband and thank Linda for her patterns.

EYMM: Christmas in July

Welcome to my stop on the EYMM Christmas in July Blog tour!
Can you believe the Christmas is only five months away?! On December 23 of last year my family made the move from Maryland to New Hampshire. Some of our new church family helped hang some lights to welcome the kids and we were able to get a tree up. But other then that we didn't do much for the holidays.

This year, we are going to go all out! I love Christmas, the lights, decorations, festivities and everything else that goes along with the season. One thing we always do is new pjs.
The Callie and Riley pattern in the night gown length were perfect for my girls!
The Riley nightgown and sleep shirt comes in sizes newborn through 18 tween.
The Callie nightgown and sleep shirt comes in ladies size xs through 5x.
Both patterns include a nightgown and a sleep shirt length, plus long and short sleeves.
I love that EYMM gives you the full size range in each pattern.
The girls love their gowns. I have a feeling I will be seeing a lot of them before December.
(Well, that is until the little one sees the Shopkins fabric in my stash and asks for another.)
Confession time...I may have had my Christmas music on while sewing these nightgowns.
Shh....don't tell anyone ;)

Five months to go! Time to start sewing!

EYMM: Daddy and Me Blog Tour

Welcome to the EYMM Daddy and Me tour!
I am so excited that I got to sew for my hubby, especially with father's day right around the corner.
This is the first time I have ever sewed something for him.
I chose the Parker's tee shirt pattern. It is the perfect comfy everyday shirt. For their classic tees I used the rounded neckline, but the pattern also has a V neck. It also comes with a pocket and different sleeve lengths.
The pattern layers and no trim pages make the pattern super simple t o assemble.  My little loves his shirt, he kept telling me how comfortable it is. He even ended up sleeping in it. If you don't already have Parker's make sure you pick up your copy today.
Make sure you check out the end of the blog for a coupon code!

And for your viewing pleasure.....
My two guys!
