My Little Plumcake: Frolic Capsule

I am so excited to share with you the new My Little Plumcake Frolic Capsule!
First, what is a "capsule"?
Well, Michelle from My Little Plumcake describes it best:

"So, what is a Capsule Wardrobe? Capsule Wardrobe's are popping up all over social media. They are a mini wardrobes made up of versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched to create different looks. Capsule Wardrobes often help minimize, simplify and save (space & $). We will continue to release new patterns that can be incorporated into the collection in 2016. Even better news is that a few will be free add-on's featured on our blog!"

The first five pieces of the capsule are here and the are amazing!
They are the Chiffon Skirt, Crop Top, Jacket, Jumpsuit and Shorts.

First up is the Chiffon Skirt and Crop Top.
This too cute top is a super quick sew and the skirt consists of layers of tulle and chiffon.
The top buttons (or snaps) up the back and the skirt has a comfortable elastic waistband.

 Next, the Jumpsuit.
The Jumpsuit is made of knit and was easy enough for my potty training princess to get on and off.
It has an unique design at the ankle and pockets (which are always a hit).

Last but not least, the Jacket and Shorts.
I have a confession to make.
I found the fabric for the Jacket and Shorts at our church's thrift store.
It is vintage, cream and gold.
When I saw it I knew it had to be apart of my capsule.
It kind of drove my fabric decisions.
This fabric and the Capsule is exactly what I needed for the Little Miss' perfectly posh spring wardrobe.

EYMM: Kenzie's Holiday Dress Tour

It's that time of year to start thinking about holiday outfits.
Our family will be relocating out of state of December 23 so sewing is taking a backseat to packing and cleaning for awhile.
But the Little Miss cannot go without a new dress for her holiday parties at school.
The simple version of Kenzie's party dress is perfect when you want something adorable and fast to sew. I love the classic look and the low back on Kenzie's Dress. For my version I shorten the skirt and added a band.
The fancy version of Kenzie's is also amazing for when you want something a little more over the top. With this pattern you get two amazing dresses and the instructions on how to make them as skirts!
When I saw this fabric I knew I had to use it for Little Miss.
Not only are we moving but we will also be getting goats, chickens and ducks!
This dress is perfect for her "barnyard" Christmas!

Now its time to start sewing your holiday outfits and to get you started...
From now until 11:59pm PST on Nov. 21 use code HOLIDAYDRESS2015 to save 50% off Kenzie's Party Dress (nb-4t), Kenzie's Party Dress(5-18tween) or on Kenzie's Party Dress Ultimate Bundle (nb-18tween + 18" doll size).

Gracious Threads: A New Look Blog Tour

Welcome to the Gracious Threads: A New Look Blog tour!
For those that do not know me I am Lore from Blessed x Five.
For  this tour we were asked to come up with an outfit that is "something new" for us.
New style, new prints, new techniques. You name it!
I was so excited to try out a new look for Little Miss.
My little miss is definitely a girly girl.
She loves dresses, the ruffly the better.
Her favorite past time is playing baby dolls
( But don't cross her! Her three brothers have taught her how to kick butt!).
As you can see "something new" came pretty easy!
Pants!

For our look we went with the Jasper Joggers and the Raindrop Tee.
The Jasper Joggers feature pockets and faux welt pockets it the back. Little Miss has been infatuated with pockets lately. She was very happy to discover them on her pants. The Raindrop Tee is the perfect slim fit tee for the cool fall days. It also has an adorable high low hem.
I have to say even with out the ruffles and lace, this outfit is a hit!

Gracious Threads is graciously donating a free pattern to one of my readers!
Leave a comment below with something you a grateful for. At the end of the tour I will draw a winner!!
Make sure you visit Gracious Threads and all the other stops along the New Look Tour.

Life's a Dance

Little Miss has started taking dance classes.
So, of course she needed a new dance wardrobe!
Create Kids Couture recently came out with a bunch of new dance ware patterns.
I love how easy CKC makes everything.
Every dancer needs a nice black leotard. For ours we used the Asia pattern. Isn't it just adorable with the one shoulder strap.
When your leotard needs a little twist head to Brylee's! You can twist it up with a braid!

Sometimes perfection is in the details. With Helga's that is definitely true. The back has a unique woven heart. Paired with Helga's is Dottie's dance pants in the capri length.
Little Miss loves her lace. Lenora's and Dottie's shorts delivered!
We can't leave out baby! Baby and Little Miss are rocking their Raquel's.

The royal's leotard was released awhile ago but it is still a favorite.
Who wouldn't want to dress up like their favorite character and dance the night away?

Now, for your viewing pleasure...

Gracious Threads: Glacier Vest and the Eclair Blouse

I love finding new (or at least new to me) pattern designers! I just discovered Gracious Threads and I must say I am delighted.
The first pattern I tried was the Glacier Vest.
Little Miss loves the faux fur exterior and the warm flannel lining.
I used a toggle button closure but the ribbon tie closure instructions are also included. Working with faux fur can be a tad tricky so tips are included in the instructions.

The pattern comes in sizes 2- 12 and includes computer drawn, printable no-trim pattern pieces. The pattern also includes layers so that you can print only the size you need.
The next pattern I sewed up was the Eclair Blouse.
This blouse was so simple to sew and the results are adorable! The exposed zipper is very trendy at the moment.

Little Miss wore her blouse to preschool and all the kids (and teachers) couldn't stop talking about her "Bernstein Bears" shirt. Not only is the zipper an absolutely adorable feature it is functional and includes a zipper guard. The other adorable features include side vents, a curved hem, and small cap sleeves.
This pattern is listed as intermediate, however, a video tutorial is provided to help with the trickier steps.

As with the glacier vest, the pattern comes in sizes 2- 12 and includes computer drawn, printable no-trim pattern pieces. The pattern also includes layers so that you can print only the size you need. Gracious Threads will be holding a blog tour soon! Check back in November for more details.
